Amici Forever
I just picked up Amici Forever's two CD's. They bill themselves as the first "Opera Band". I first found them browsing the Classical category in Winamp Video (from the library). On there they have the video for Senza Catene, which is Unchained Melody in Italian. It is very beautiful. You can also watch the video on Amici Forever's web site.
Amici Forever is a 5 person group that sings opera, but not the usual opera most people think of. I would say it is more of a pop opera. "Amici" is Itialian for "Friends". In an interview they said "we're all good mates" which might explain the name. They got together because they are all young singers on the opera circut in the UK. They are an "Opera Band" because they have classically trained voices instead of pop voices.
I played some for Dawn and she said while she wouldn't have expected to like it, she really enjoyed it. You can listen to excerpts from their CD's on their web site, or you can stop by my house and I will play you some.
